For ELLE Wonen, I developed a new visual direction that gave the magazine a more human, lively, and modern look—a complete change in look and feel.

From cover art direction to determining styling and selecting strong locations: every image had to tell a story. I selected and supervised new photographers, who worked with detailed concepts to create reports that had to stand out in terms of atmosphere and image quality – images that not only determined the look and feel of the magazine, but later also found their way into complete photography books based on our reports.

The first covers featuring people—something the magazine had not done before—represented a striking break with the existing visual tradition. It was precisely in this area that we chose people that were not yet commonplace at the time, but which have since become indispensable.
