I was approached to give the oldest women's glossy magazine in the Netherlands a new visual direction. Elegance had been around for 70 years and was ready for a subtle but thoughtful facelift.

With carte blanche from editor-in-chief Anita Willemars, I created a fresh, contemporary version of this classic title—respectful of its past, but with a clearer and more modern look.
I updated the logo without losing its familiar look and feel.

The typography became more powerful, the use of color more expressive, and the photography more vibrant. Collage-like shopping pages, bold fonts, and more rhythm in the images and layout brought new energy to the magazine without alienating long-time Elegance readers.
In 2008, the restyling was nominated for a Mercur in the Restyling of the Year category.
